I write about the peripheral, the refugee, the hidden voice. I write monologues for women, because their stories are the most engaging and absent onstage. I like to kick the log of history and see what stirs beneath, the women in factories who slapped back, the man invited into Abraham Lincoln’s bed. These are the characters I seek to give a voice to.
